What are dental crowns and dental bridges?
Dental crowns are designed to cover or “cap” a tooth to restore its normal function, shape, size and overall appearance. The crowns, when cemented into place, fully encase the visible portion of the tooth that lies at and above the gum line. They are recommended for fractured or worn teeth, teeth with very large defective, leaky fillings and teeth that have had a root canal. They are also used in aesthetic cases to reshape teeth or close large gaps between teeth.
Dental Bridges are multiple crowns connected together. They are used to replace missing teeth and are a permanent, long term solution that look and work like real teeth.
We typically recommend all-ceramic crowns because they provide better natural color match than any other crown type. All-ceramic crowns can be used for front and back teeth. With our in-office CAD/CAM technology, we can create a crown in your natural color with precision.
