Dentures

What are dentures?

Dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth and their surrounding gum tissue. Complete dentures replace all teeth while removable partial dentures replace some teeth. By matching an individual’s unique smile and bite, dentures can improve chewing and speech caused by missing teeth – as well as improve facial appearance and boost self-confidence.

It is very important to replace missing teeth – otherwise remaining teeth can shift, causing an inability to bite and chew properly and a sagging facial appearance. Our dentures are designed to be both comfortable and functional. They’re very similar in appearance to natural teeth, and can greatly improve your smile.

How About Partial Dentures?

Partial dentures are recommended for patients missing several teeth but not all of their teeth. This type of denture uses the remaining teeth to hold the removable teeth in place. There are many different types of designs available.

A removable partial denture consists of replacement teeth attached to a gum-colored plastic base, which is sometimes connected by a metal framework that holds the denture in place. Not only does a partial denture fill in the spaces created by missing teeth, it prevents other teeth from changing position.
